About

Tiaho Trust aims to significantly contribute to the New Zealand Disability Strategy’s vision of ‘A society that highly values the lives and continually enhances the full participation of disabled people’.

We endeavour to do this by positioning Tiaho Trust to be the leading proactive disability led organisation in Tai Tokerau from which the community can obtain expert advice and support.

We promote the disabled community as valued citizens who contribute, participate and add to the diversity of New Zealand society through training and education.

Community Representation

‘We lead the people that we follow’

As a disabled led organisation, Tiaho Trust is strongly focused on representing the issues and views of the disabled community in Tai Tokerau.

Tiaho Trust CEO, Jonny Wilkinson is Chairperson on the Disability Sector Reference Group. The DSRG is made up of representatives from a diverse range of disability organisations in Northland with the purpose of advocating and providing advice on issues affecting the disabled community and to work alongside council and other organisations to address them.
